YSR Telangana Party chief and the sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have chosen a safe constituency for her maiden entry into the electoral politics of Telangana.
Sharmila announced contesting the next assembly polls from Palair in Khammam district. Located on the border of Andhra and Telangana, Palair has a good number of Andhra settlers and hence, Sharmila is confident of winning the seat.
Earlier this seat was a Congress bastion and now BRS party holds grip here. Sharmila added that she feels emotionally connected to this constituency since people here loved her father Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Sharmila also performed a ground-breaking ceremony for her party’s office in this constituency. Shamila added that Palair reservoir was renovated during YSR’s tenure and he delivered more than 20000 houses for poor people in this constituency.
